International Mother Language Day Celebrated

Staff Correspondent, Savar,27 March 2018: The mother language day of the country was celebrated yesterday in Savar University College with great enthusiasm and zeal. International mother language day was celebrated countrywide with great pomp and solemnity.

The govt. as well as the different organizers made elaborate arrangements to celebrate this national day. The day's first programme started with the offering of flowers on the Shaheed Minar. In the morning colourful processions bare-foot were held where people of different ages participated. Everyone was chanting "Amar Vaiyer rokte Rangano Ekushe February........." Different organizations arranged different programmes such as sports, discussion, feast etc.

The newspaper published supplementary on that day. Radio and Television put on special programmes. Special prayers were arranged in mosques, temples, and other religious institution. The total country appeared a festive look on that day. A grand parade was held in the capital where the president and the prime minister were present. Everybody wished for the peace and solidarity of the country on this occasion.
